Trey Lipscomb records third hit in July since being recalled

Former Vol Trey Lipscomb records third hit in July since being recalled by the Washington Nationals.

The Nationals and Mets concluded a three-game series on Thursday at Citi Field in Queens, New York. New York defeated Washington, 7-0.

Former Vol Trey Lispcomb started at third base for the Nationals. He went 1-for-4 in the contest.

Lipscomb was recalled by the Nationals from Triple-A Rochester on July 6. In five games since being recalled, the former Vol is 3-for-18 and scored one run.

Washington will next play on Friday at Milwaukee. First pitch between the Nationals and Brewers is slated for 8:10 p.m. EDT.

Lipscomb was selected by Washington in the third-round of the 2022 Major League Baseball draft (No. 84 overall). He won the 2022 Southeastern Conference Tournament and regular-season championship with the Vols.

Lipscomb appeared in 66 games in his final season at Tennessee in 2022. He totaled 22 home runs, 84 RBIs, 68 runs, 89 hits, 19 doubles, three triples, 26 walks and four stolen bases.
