Freshman guard Travis Perry was praised by teammate Andrew Carr

Incoming Freshman guard Travis Perry has received praise from forward Andrew Carr.

The 2024-25 Kentucky basketball team has a lot of questions due to the changes at head coach and subsequent roster rebuild. The previous players all chose to transfer, and all but one recruit elected to decommit. The lone 2024 recruit to stay was guard Travis Perry.

Perry is from the state of Kentucky and always dreamed of playing for the Cats. He’ll get his chance now, and early word is that he’s making a name for himself.

Kentucky forward Andrew Carr specifically mentioned Perry when speaking with reporters.

Travis Perry has done a really good job. Sometimes you walk in and he’s at 500, 600 shots up in the day, something like that. And he’s still at 85 percent. And I’m like “How is that possible?” I look over and it’s all threes, he’s at 85 percent. It’s pretty crazy. He made 59 in a row from the corner the other day. It’s incredible.”

Perry was an excellent three-point shooter in high school, and helped him become the all-time leading scorer in Kentucky high school history. He’s hoping for a chance to show what he can do with the Wildcats this season, even on a veteran roster. Carr seems to believe he’s capable of big things, and it’s certain that fans think so too.
