Acaden Lewis breaks down what he likes about North Carolina

Four-star combo guard Acaden Lewis had positive things to say about the UNC Basketball program and their guards.

The North Carolina Tar Heels made the cut for talented four-star combo guard Acaden Lewis on Wednesday as he trimmed his list of offers down to a top eight.

As North Carolina is getting set to face off against Tennessee, UConn, Kentucky, Syracuse, MichiganAuburn, and Duke in this recruitment, the Tar Heels have to feel good about their chances early on.

Lewis is becoming a priority recruit for UNC as they need to land another backcourt player with the departure of RJ Davis after this year and potentially Elliot Cadeau as well. As Lewis made the update to his recruitment, he also discussed each of his finalists including UNC.

Here is what he had to say about the Tar Heels via Zag’s Blog:

North Carolina: “It was great. It’s a college town and one of the most respected programs. They’re known for their guards and getting them to the league as well, which is one of the main things I’m focusing on. Hubert [Davis] was a super cool, genuine guy, and a lot of the staff is super genuine, and the players seem to really like it there. Their system, they play really fast, which I think I could excel in. He [Davis] just said he could see me playing there, and I agree. He needs guards because he has some high-profile guards now that’ll be gone by the time I would get there, so he could see me stepping into play Day 1.”

The part that stands out is how he talks about the guards and getting to the NBA. That’s key for the Tar Heels in this recruitment and if they can prove to Lewis that he will have a path to the NBA while getting early playing time in his college career, it could go a long ways in landing him.
