Former Kentucky Wildcats forward Justin Edwards struggled to find consistency in his lone season in Lexington, and it resulted in him going undrafted. He signed with the Philadelphia 76ers as a free agent, and is now trying to show that he belongs at the NBA level.
On Tuesday night, Edwards and the Sixers played the Memphis Grizzlies in a Summer League game, and he was terrific. He performed like the player he was expected to be when he signed with Kentucky.

After a scoreless debut, Edwards played well against the Grizzlies, scoring 14 points on five-of-seven shooting. He made all three of his three-point attempts as well. The former Wildcat added three rebounds, two steals, and two blocks as well.
Just a year ago, he was considered one of the best recruits in the country, and seemed to be destined to be a high draft pick. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out that way, and he’ll have to battle his way into the NBA. More performances like the one he had Tuesday night will help.
