Steelers EDGE T.J. Watt checks in at No. 2 on top pass rushers list

Who is the best pass rusher in the NFL.

There is a debate that has been raging for several seasons about who the top pass rusher is in the NFL. Pittsburgh Steelers edge T.J. Watt and Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett are the top guys and who is first depends on who you ask.

So what ESPN did was ask a bunch of NFL coaches, executives and scouts to give them their 10 best and as expected Garrett and Watt were No. 1 and No. 2.

In that order. For Steelers fans, this is just one more thing to be mad about as the fanbase is fully convinced that there is a huge gap between the two.

Here’s what ESPN had to say about Watt at no. 2.

Watt has earned four All-Pro first team nods over the past five seasons, and his 96.5 sacks through his first seven years ranks third all time behind Reggie White (110) and DeMarcus Ware (99.5).

One voter called Watt the “Aaron Donald of pass rushers” which is high praise. Watt has been named Defensive Player of the Year, hold the single-season sack record with Michael Strahan and is the only player in NFL history to lead the league in sacks in three different seasons.
