The 3-pointers were not falling for the University of Connecticut alum Stephon Castle. But the San Antonio Spurs top 2024 NBA draft pick still had a standout game in the Spurs’ 89-67 exhibition loss to the Chinese National Team. Castle put up a team-high 18 points with 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals in California Classic Summer League action Sunday (July 9) night.
Forward Harrison Ingram (16 points, 10 boards, 3 assists, 2 steals) also had a solid night for the Spurs, as did point guard Jamaree Bouyea (14 points, 5 assists). Center Nathan Mensah also added 9 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 blocks to help secure the win for San Antonio.
With the win, the Spurs finish their slate of California Classic Summer League games with a 1-2 record and plenty of promising play for their prospects under contract.

San Antonio will have some time off before kicking off their slate of games in the NBA’s 2024 Las Vegas Summer League. It will see the Spurs take on the Portland Trail Blazers for Game 1 of their Sin City exhibition play this summer on Saturday (July 13).
