USC offers four-star 2026 cornerback Chaston Smith

Ole Miss is viewed as the current favorite in this recruitment.

McCallie School is located in Chattanooga. That’s where four-star cornerback Chaston Smith plays high school football. Smith, a 2026 prospect, has been offered by USC.

The 6-foot-2, 170-pound rising junior is ranked as a top-100 national prospect in the 2026 class by Rivals, which ranks him as the No. 8 corner and No. 100 overall prospect in the country for his class.

Smith’s stock has been rising rapidly of late, as he also received offers this spring from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, LSU, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Notre Dame and Cal, among other schools.

The Tennessee native had 39 tackles last season and 10 pass deflections as a sophomore.

At this point in time, Ole Miss has the best odds to land his commitment, with On3 projecting them to have a 20.3 percent chance to get him.

Doug Belk would love to be able to bring Smith into a future USC secondary. The Trojans have high-quality coaching for their secondary now that Belk and Taylor Mays are on the job. USC can add value by giving each new secondary recruit a better level of instruction than what we have seen in previous years.
