Five Ravens position groups with obvious question marks heading into training camp

we present Baltimore’s five most questionable position groups, in no particular order.

It’s just 11 days now until the Baltimore Ravens open their 2024 preseason training camp. Pretty soon, Ravens players will be battling it out with each other for roster spots and starting positions.

Like every NFL team, there are plenty of question marks on the Ravens roster.

With that in mind, we present Baltimore’s five most questionable position groups in no particular order.

Offensive Guard

Both of last year’s starters, John Simpson and Kevin Zeitler are gone, and the club didn’t do much to replace them. Last year’s backup, Ben Cleveland, is projected to start on the right side, with late-round draft pick Andrew Voorhees slated on the other.

Journeyman Josh Jones will also be in the mix. With Roger Rosengarten taking over at right tackle, the OL will see new starters at three of five positions.

That naturally invites some concern and skepticism.

Wide Receiver

Is Zay Flowers truly ready to be a number one WR?

Will Rashod Bateman finally have that breakout year we’ve all been waiting a long time for? His new contract implies that the club believes he will.

Overall, the talent and depth of this position group isn’t awe-inspiring

Right Inside Linebacker

Trenton Simpson has very little experience, so it’s understandable for you to have doubt about his ability to step up and fill the void left by the departed Patrick Queen.

And what about the depth behind Simpson? This is a potential weakness in the defense.

Edge Rusher

Both starters are aging, and the two-deep is filled with guys who have a history of being injury-prone. There are some depth concerns, so if the injury bug bites this part of the time, there could be significant problems.

Left Tackle

Much has been made about whether Ronnie Stanley can return to form this season. First, he’ll need to stay 100% fully healthy. If Stanley can once again become the guy who earned that very lucrative contract, then great—problem solved!

If not, then there is a bona fide open tryout for the position.
