Trey Lipscomb records hit in series finale against Cardinals

Former Vol Trey Lipscomb records one hit in series finale against St. Louis.

St. Louis (48-42) defeated Washington (42-49), 6-0, on Monday at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C.

Former Vol Trey Lipscomb started at third base for the Nationals. He went 1-for-3 in the contest against the Cardinals.

Lipscomb was recalled by the Nationals from Triple-A Rochester on July 6.

St. Louis won the four-game series at Washington, 3-1.

Lipscomb was selected by Washington in the third-round of the 2022 Major League Baseball draft (No. 84 overall). He won the 2022 Southeastern Conference Tournament and regular-season championship with the Vols.

Lipscomb appeared in 66 games in his final season at Tennessee in 2022. He totaled 22 home runs, 84 RBIs, 68 runs, 89 hits, 19 doubles, three triples, 26 walks and four stolen bases.
