Four-star ATH Dylan Robinson sets commitment date

One of Washington’s top targets has locked in his commitment date.

There are few athletes in the country with as high of a ceiling as four-star Dylan Robinson of Bonita High School in La Verne, California. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound prospect, who took an official visit to Washington on May 31 is down to four schools and has set his commitment date.

On July 18, the nation’s No. 8 athlete and No. 15 prospect in California according to 247Sports is set to choose between the Huskies, Notre Dame, UCLA, and Utah. The question is, which side of the ball does he want to play on?

The Fighting Irish are looking at him as a wide receiver, while cornerbacks coach John Richardson, the Utes, and the Bruins all want him on the defensive side. Robinson told Inside ND Sports’ Eric Hansen that the most important thing ahead of his decision is his relationship with the coaching staff.

“I’m not going to develop and get to my fullest potential if I’m around people that I don’t think can get me there and I don’t trust and I don’t love,” he said. “So, that’s the biggest thing, having a good culture and good coaching staff that really cares about you, and just having people around you who care about you.”

Robinson’s elite size could allow him to thrive at either cornerback or safety in defensive coordinator Steve Belichick’s scheme if he were to choose the Huskies. After three of the coaching staff’s top targets in the secondary chose to go elsewhere, earning a commitment from Robinson would be another impressive feat for coach Jedd Fisch.
