3 Lions are currently in the top 20 in fantasy football average draft position as training camp approaches

Fantasy football drafts are heating up as training camp approaches, and the Detroit Lions offense is providing some of the heat in early drafts. Detroit’s explosive offensive performance in 2023 has many fantasy football players expecting big things from the Lions in 2024.

The good folks at Football Guys track several different fantasy websites and the average draft position (ADP) for players at each, creating a composite consensus overall ADP. As of July 6th, three Lions are in the top 20 overall.

Topping the list is wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown. Fresh off his first All-Pro honor and a massive contract extension, St. Brown is currently 8th in fantasy ADP and the fifth wide receiver on the rankings.

Running back Jahmyr Gibbs is next up at No. 11. He’s RB4 in current consensus draft position, with quite a bit of variance amongst different sites. Gibbs rushed for 945 yards and 10 TDs as a rookie in 2023, plus catching 52 passes to bolster his value in PPR leagues.

Tight end Sam LaPorta continues to be the top TE in fantasy drafts. His 86 receptions for 889 yards and 10 TDs as a rookie have LaPorta earning some serious respect in the fantasy football world.

If you’re drafting in your fantasy leagues soon, be prepared to pull the trigger early on LaPorta, St. Brown and Gibbs.
