After escaping another rainy weekend at Nashville Superspeedway, NASCAR will start the weekend at the Chicago Street Course soon. In 2023, NASCAR almost had to postpone the Cup Series race to Monday due to intense rain in Illinois. This year’s forecast looks better, but the possibility of rain is not out of the picture.
According to Weather.com, the weather forecast at the Chicago Street Course calls for a high of 85° and a 40% chance of rain on Sunday. This is different from Saturday, which calls for a high of 77° and a 20% chance of rain. On Sunday, the rain is projected to arrive in Chicago later in the day, which aligns with the Cup Series event.
Luckily, NASCAR has rain tires for the weekend in Chicago, which should help the sport complete the Cup Series race unless it pours or suffers a lightning delay. The forecast for Chicago looks much better than it did in 2023, so NASCAR should be grateful for an easier weekend. It might be a little wet on Sunday, but it shouldn’t spoil the excitement in Illinois.
