The UCLA Bruins continued their search for their future centerpieces on defense.
Offering three-star linebacker Cyrus Polu, the Bruins made yet another offer to bolster their defense. Following the departure of high-end defenders Laiatu Latu, Gabriel Murphy, Grayson Murphy, and Darius Muasau to the NFL, the Bruins are in search of their defensive identity for the future in the BIG 10.
Polu, from Desert Hills High School in St. George, Utah, is a linebacker with serious athleticism. Also playing some strong safety, the class of 2025 defender flashes skills as a kick and punt returner.
Potentially a fit to play the “joker” position, playing both linebacker and safety, Polu could be the perfect defensive hybrid for the Bruins in the future.
A standout on special teams and on defense, Polu has the potential to be a truly versatile player for the Bruins. With prototypical size at 6’2″ and 215 pounds, Polu could be a plug-and-play player for UCLA they can sway his recruiting decision.
