Report: Spurs to have a strong interest in adding waived Chris Paul

The San Antonio Spurs have a strong interest in the recently waived future Hall of Famer Chris Paul.

The San Antonio Spurs are in the process of looking to add the right pieces around generational talent Victor Wembanyama. After a phenomenal rookie season, the organization now looks to continue to grow and add around him.

After landing talented wing defender Stephon Castle in the draft, it appears that San Antonio has its eyes now on a future Hall of Famer: Chris Paul.

Paul, after one season with the Golden State Warriors, was waived on Sunday afternoon heading into free agency. He was limited to 58 games due to injury, but still averaged 9.2 points, 6.8 assists, and 3.9 rebounds with Golden State.

Per Marc Stein, the Spurs have a strong interest in bringing in Paul.

Paul is still an elite playmaker and can make Wembanyama a better player. He would be able to help Wemby and the other players on the roster take another step forward in their respective games. It remains to be seen how the Spurs will handle free agency.
