UCLA target commits to Ohio State

This one hurts.

The UCLA Bruins football program missed out on a big recruit. Trajen Odom, who had UCLA as one of his finalists, decided to join Ryan Day, Chip Kelly and the Ohio State Buckeyes, per Hayes Fawcett.

It’s a tough loss for UCLA, who gave an offer to Odom earlier in the offseason and had made the list of six finalists, along with Oregon, Ohio State, USC, Colorado, and Georgia.

Here’s what Michael Chen of Buckeyes Wire wrote about Odom coming to Columbus.

It’s a big recruiting win for the Buckeyes, as Odom is ranked as the No. 283 overall prospect and 31st defensive lineman according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He joins Zion GradyZahir Mathis, and London Merritt to form one of the best collections of commitments at their position in the country.

Still, it has been a terrific offseason for DeShaun Foster and his new staff.
