The hype around EA Sports’ upcoming 2025 College Football video game has been astronomical over the past month as the developers release various aspects of the highly-anticipated release. Recently, the rankings for various categories have been announced with much fanfare.
On Friday, the overall top-25 team rankings were posted on social media, which omitted the Florida Gators but included seven of the Orange and Blue’s 12 opponents inside the top 15 programs listed. While some of these rankings are a bit questionable, they are certainly another exhibit of evidence when it comes to [autotag]Billy Napier[/autotag] and Co.’s strength of schedule.
The top-ranked team is unsurprisingly the Georgia Bulldogs, followed by the Ohio State Buckeyes, Oregon Ducks, Alabama Crimson Tide and Texas Longhorns, respectively. Between UGA and the ‘Horns, Florida faces two of the top five teams this fall away from the Swamp… but it gets worse.

The Gators will also face the LSU Tigers (No. 8), Florida State Seminoles (No. 12), Miami Hurricanes (No. 13), Texas A&M Aggies (No. 14) and Ole Miss Rebels (No. 15).
The silver lining is that one can make some solid arguments against these rankings. As is the tradition, the Hurricanes’ outlook is far too bullish for a reasonable person while Ole Miss also gets an unearned boost thanks to Lane Kiffin.
Nonetheless, if someone plays this game in classic mode as UF, they are in for a world of pain.
