Duke basketball star[autotag]Jared McCain[/autotag] has finally made it in the NBA, fully and officially.
After the Philadelphia 76ers drafted McCain with the 16th pick in the 2024 NBA draft on Wednesday, the team shared its first look at McCain in a jersey on Friday.
It appears McCain, who wore the number 0 at Duke, will now sport the number 20 in the City of Brotherly Love.
McCain averaged 14.3 points and 5.0 rebounds during his lone season of basketball in Durham. He scored at least 30 points three times, tying a school record for points scored by a freshman in a regular-season game (35 against Florida State) and points scored in an NCAA Tournament game (32 against NC State in the Elite Eight).
McCain now gets to play with Joel Embiid, the 7-foot superstar who was named MVP two seasons ago, and last season’s Most Improved Player, Tyrese Maxey.
The California native is Duke’s 28th first-round pick since 2011.
