The U.S. men’s national team will face Panama on Thursday as it looks to start the Copa América with back-to-back wins.
The USMNT comfortably beat Bolivia 2-0 in its opener on Sunday, as Christian Pulisic and Folarin Balogun scored in the first half to set the U.S. on its way to victory.
Panama began its Copa América with a 3-1 defeat to Uruguay in a match where Los Canaleros troubled their vaunted opposition for long stretches of the match.

The U.S. can all but clinch a spot in the quarterfinal with a win on Thursday, and it will be expected to do so with an all-time record of 17W-2L-7D against the Central Americans.
Most recently, Panama defeated the USMNT in a shootout after a 1-1 draw in last summer’s Gold Cup semifinal. That U.S. squad, though, was a second-choice team. The last time a full-strength USMNT faced Panama, it ended in a 5-1 rout for the U.S. in World Cup qualifying in 2022.
Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the match.
