A new mock draft from our sister site For The Win that was put together by Bryan Kalbrosky has the San Antonio Spurs taking Cholet’s Tidjane Salaun in the 2024 NBA draft. A 6-foot-9 forward who is a frequent mock to the Spurs in range of their No. 8 pick, Salaun is just under 19 years old. But it might not just be his considerable potential as a player that has him on San Antonio’s radar as a potential lottery pick.
According to Kalbrosky, Salaun and star Spurs forward Victor Wembanyama “are represented by the same agency and the two have reportedly known each other since 2017.”
“Salaun has called Wembanyama an “inspiration” and … (reportedly) will work out for the Spurs,” adds Kalbrosky.

“He makes sense for San Antonio as a young and versatile forward with tremendous upside,” suggests the FTW analyst, and we can’t say that we disagree.
