Colton Gumino announced that he would be taking an official visit to see DeShaun Foster and the UCLA Bruins Football coaching staff. Gumino is a pro-style quarterback that is from Arlington Heights Illinois and plays his high school football at John Hersey High School.
Gumino is a three-star recruit by the folks at 247Sports.
He has an 84-player rating and is the 50th-best recruit out of the state of Illinois. The Bruins have been hot on him as of late, and the visit solidifies that claim. Ohio State, Notre Dame, Tennessee, and Purdue are some of the other schools that have looked into Gumino.
He would be the first quarterback to commit under head coach DeShaun Foster as a freshman. Karson Gordon was signed by the previous coaching staff at UCLA, back in December of 2023.

Ethan Garbers is expected to be the starting quarterback for the Bruins this fall. Justyn Martin and Chase Griffin are also expected to compete for the job. Garbers transferred to UCLA after not taking a single snap for the Washington Huskies.
