When Jonah Coleman followed Jedd Fisch to the Washington Huskies in January, he became the first member of the Arizona Wildcats to join his former staff in Seattle.
He was also one of the best running backs in the Pac-12 in 2023 and should continue to excel as the Huskies move into the Big Ten in 2024.
Pro Football Focus agreed, giving Coleman a 93.4 grade for his rushing performance in 2023, the highest grade of any running back in the transfer portal. While the Ohio State Buckeyes and Oregon Ducks have gotten the majority of the offseason hype for their running back rooms, Washington’s, under the guise of coach Scottie Graham, has just as much potential.
Coleman averaged 6.8 yards per carry last season, tallying 871 rushing yards and 5 touchdowns on just 128 carries, and added 25 catches for 283 yards and a touchdown as a receiver.
Those numbers earned him a spot on the All-Pac-12 honorable mention list and even in what’s considered to be a very strong class of running backs, if the Huskies can figure out their plan along the offensive line, Coleman could be in for another strong campaign.
