Former Duke basketball star [autotag]Jayson Tatum[/autotag] didn’t have his most efficient game from the floor on Saturday night, but he nearly put together a statistical achievement in Game 2 of the NBA Finals.
Tatum finished with 18 points, 12 assists, and nine rebounds during Boston’s 105-98 victory, helping the Celtics take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.
The All-NBA First Team member made just six of his 22 shots from the floor, including two of his 10 efforts in the first half, and he connected on just one 3-pointer in seven tries. Despite all of that and postgame comments about how he needed to shoot better, however, only two other players put together a double-double.
Through two games in the series, the former Blue Devil averaged 17.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 8.5 assists
Tatum gets a chance to actually put together a triple-double during Game 3 on the road on Wednesday night.
