The date is set for the first UCLA Bruins game. Taking on Hawaii in Honolulu, the Bruins fly over the Pacific to take on the Rainbow Warriors in DeShaun Foster‘s first game as an NCAA head coach.
The game, which will be played on August 31st at 4:30 PT, is a relatively winnable matchup for the Bruins despite the losses they incurred over the offseason. Hawaii’s mediocre 5-8 finish in 2023 presents a great opportunity for the Bruins to get started under Foster on Paramount+.
With Ethan Garbers likely to start at quarterback in Eric Bieniemy’s new offense, the Bruins have a fighting chance to win their first game on the road. Though not a Power-Four school, it will be an interesting test to see if the Bruins are capable of winning non-conference games.
One of many games airing on a streaming platform this season, Bruins fans should make sure to have their subscriptions in order to watch UCLA’s first game.
