After months of waiting, the UCLA Bruins finally landed a future starting quarterback in Madden Iamaleava. In the biggest signing of the DeShaun Foster era, the Bruins acquired one of the best quarterbacks in the 2025 recruiting class.
Despite the Bruins ranking relatively low in several recruiting rankings this offseason, the signing of Iamaleava should change their scores greatly. Ranked as the 11th-best quarterback in his class by 247 Sports, the four-star recruit stays close to home as he joins the UCLA Bruins.
A dual-threat quarterback, Iamaleava has enough athleticism and arm strength to make him a competitor for the starting job in 2025. Built in a similar mold to Eric Bieniemy‘s former quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, Iamaleava is smooth working in and outside of the pocket.
With good pocket awareness and accuracy when he throws the ball on the run, Iamaleava has a lot to offer for the Bruins when he steps onto campus in Westwood.
