The Washington Huskies are headed to the Big Ten which will bring plenty of changes to the shores of Montlake, including scheduling, as the conference navigates its 18 teams from coast to coast.
On Wednesday, the Huskies announced they will have two Friday Night Lights games on Fox as part of their inaugural season in the new conference.
The first features Washington’s longest trip of the year, as coach Jedd Fisch’s team will travel to his home state of New Jersey for a matchup with Rutgers on September 27, set to begin at 5 P.M. PST. The game is the third all-time matchup between the two schools, the last of which also occurred on a Friday, September 1, 2017.
This will make for a short turnaround after Northwestern travels to Montlake on September 21, but will give the Huskies an extra day to prepare for their national championship rematch with the Michigan Wolverines on October 5.
Then, the UCLA Bruins will come to Husky Stadium on November 15 at 6 P.M. PST. Just like Rutgers, it’s also the second-straight Friday matchup between the two teams, as the Bruins handed Kalen DeBoer the first loss of his Husky career on Friday, September 30, 2022 in the Rose Bowl.
Heading into an idle week before the final game of the season, it will give Fisch’s squad an extra day of rest before heading to Auzten Stadium in Eugene to play their longtime rivals, the Oregon Ducks.
College Football Friday … Husky Nation, mark your calendars‼️👀
