No. 1 Tennessee (46-10, 22-8 SEC) clinched a share of the 2024 Southeastern Conference regular-season championship on Saturday. The Vols defeated No. 23 South Carolina (33-21, 13-17 SEC), 4-1, at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.
Tennessee is co-champions with Kentucky. The Vols and Wildcats both finished with a 22-8 SEC record. Tennessee is a No. 1 seed in the SEC Tournament.
Zander Sechrist (2-1) started for Tennessee and pitched six innings. He recorded four strikeouts, while totaling 65 pitches (47 strikes) against 19 batters. Aaron Combs pitched 1.2 innings in relief and earned his fourth save of the season.
Dalton Bargo and Kavares Tears led the Vols with two hits each in the series finale.
