Though the UCLA women’s basketball season seems like it just ended, there was big news for the 2024-2025 season announced last week.
The opportunities for the Bruins were posted on Tuesday and featured an impressive slate of games, both home and away. While the dates have yet to be finalized, the Bruins face off against BIG 10 opponents for the first time in school history, seeing markedly different competition.
At home, the Bruins take on Illinois, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern, Ohio State, and rival USC. Away from Westwood, the Bruins face Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, Oregon, Purdue, Rutgers, Wisconsin, Washington, and, again, USC.
The Bruins finished their season in the Sweet Sixteen, falling to LSU 78-69. But 2023-2024 was a successful season.
Finishing 27-7, the Bruins made a case as the best team in Los Angeles and a force to be reckoned with in the future. As the Bruins continue in the Cori Close era, the BIG 10 draws some favorable matchups that the Bruins could use as a stepping stone towards another late-March run.
