It didn’t take very long for Trent Noah to find a new home after decommitting from South Carolina. On Thursday, the local high school star chose to commit to Mark Pope and Kentucky basketball.
Noah is rated four stars by 247sports and is just outside their top 100 recruits for 2024. The 6’6″, 200 lb forward committed to South Carolina in November, but asked out of his National Letter of Intent earlier this week. In doing so, he said he wanted to be closer to home. Kentucky made the most sense, and Pope landed him.
Only Wildcats recruit Travis Perry was rated as a higher recruit in the state, and Noah has similar strengths. He’s a very good shooter from three-point range, and also passes the ball well.
Like Perry, Noah will be a popular player with Big Blue Nation being a local kid. He’s a good player too, and could work his way into the rotation early in his career.
