The UCLA Bruins are headed for the Big Ten Conference, so it is worth examining some happenings that have been going on around the league.
Athan Kaliakmanis has been named the starting QB for Rutgers after spending time at Minnesota. As a result, Gavin Wismatt has entered the portal and then decided to head to Kentucky.
Wismatt had started 18 games over the past two seasons. He threw for 1,651 yards with nine touchdowns and eight interceptions in 2023, but now he leaves Rutgers and heads for Lexington.
Kristian Dyer of Rutgers Wire laid out five destinations for Wismatt, including Western Kentucky, Florida International, Tulane, and others, so the Wildcats are an interesting fit.
Kaliakmanis threw for 1,838 yards with 14 touchdowns and nine interceptions last year for Minnesota, so he stays in the Big Ten and is now the starter for Rutgers.
The Big Ten quarterback carousel continues to spin after the Spring transfer portal window sent many players elsewhere.
UCLA visits Rutgers and their new QB Kaliakmanis on Oct. 19 this coming season.
