The transfer portal continues to make things interesting for college football, and the Kentucky Wildcats football team. One defensive back entered the portal, and the Cats will likely look to add a replacement in Michigan’s DJ Waller.
Waller is a 6’3″, 205 pound defensive back was a three-star recruit in the 2023 class. He was a cornerback in high school, but his size had him projected as a college safety.
In his Freshman season with the Michigan Wolverines, Waller contributed at CB and on special teams. For the year, he had 12 tackles and a pass breakup.
Waller was originally recruited by Kentucky, but chose Michigan over the Wildcats. Now, it’s expected that they’ll pursue him once again. The defensive back room is certainly a place that Kentucky can use an injection of talent, especially with the loss of a player to the portal this week.
This will be a player that fans will be monitoring over the next few weeks. He could be a nice addition to the Kentucky defense.
