Kentucky guard Brooklynn Miles enters the transfer portal

Much has been made, and rightfully so, of the impact new coach Kenny Brooks on the Kentucky Wildcats women’s basketball program. In less than a week, he has made some big additions to the roster for next season. Some terrific players are coming in, but guard Brooklynn Miles will be going out.

Just as players left Virginia Tech with their coaching change, players on last year’s Wildcats squad have been transferring out with the changes in Lexington. Miles is just the latest.

In total so far, eight players from the 2023-24 team have announced intentions to transfer. That leaves just three players still on the roster from last season.

Miles started 27 games for Kentucky, and averaged nearly six points and three assists per game. She was also a solid defender with active hands.

In today’s college basketball landscape, any time there’s a coaching change, rosters drastically change due to the addition of the transfer portal. Kentucky will have a drastically different looking roster next season, but fans hope it will pay dividends in March.
