WWE already kicked off WrestleMania XL once in Las Vegas. But as we learned on the March 29 episode of SmackDown, it’s got no problem doing it again for the fans in attendance the weekend of this year’s show in Philadelphia.
As announced Friday night, WrestleMania XL Kickoff will take place ahead of SmackDown on Friday, April 5, outside Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia — where SmackDown and the Hall of Fame ceremony will take place later that night.
Like the Las Vegas event, the Kickoff will be free for fans to attend, but also have special “Priority Passes” for which people can pay and presumably get a seat up close and personal.
Hosted by Michael Cole and Pat McAfee, the Kickoff will feature a wide variety of talent from the WrestleMania card. The promotional image includes Triple H, Cody Rhodes, Becky Lynch, Rhea Ripley, Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, Sami Zayn and Gunther. Noticeably absent are Roman Reigns and The Rock, but maybe they’ll crash the party unexpectedly to get the crowd even more frenzied.
How to watch WrestleMania 40 Kickoff
Not going to be in attendance in Philadelphia? No worries, because WrestleMania XL Kickoff will stream live on Peacock and WWE social channels. You’ll have plenty of options come 5 p.m. ET/2 p.m. PT on April 5.
