Patriots reportedly meeting with top QB prospects this week

The Patriots are meeting with two potential draft targets at No. 3

The New England Patriots are continuing to do their homework on the top quarterbacks in the upcoming draft, and they have scheduled meetings with two of the premier prospects, per The Athletic’s Jeff Howe.

They were believed to have a lengthy meeting with LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels on Tuesday night, but according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, that meeting will take place after his pro day on Wednesday. The Patriots will then head to North Carolina for quarterback Drake Maye’s pro day on Thursday.

New England should be in a strong position to select either quarterback with the third overall selection in the draft. Both are coming off productive 2023 seasons. Daniels ran for 3,812 yards, 40 touchdowns and four interceptions last season.

Maye threw for 3,680 yards, 24 touchdowns and nine interceptions.

The Patriots need a playmaker at the quarterback position, and either of these quarterbacks would fit the bill. It is clear the organization is doing their due diligence, as they look to select their quarterback of the future.
