At Notre Dame, the tight end position has been played as well as anywhere nationally throughout time. Not only have the likes of Michael Mayer, Tyler Eifert, Kyle Rudolph, and plenty of others starred in the blue and gold, but they’ve also gone onto star in the NFL.
With the NFL draft right around the corner Notre Dame won’t see a former tight end selected this year, but they’ll remain atop the list of programs who have had tight ends drafted.
Pro Football Focus looked up the numbers of the college teams that have produced the most tights ends to turn into NFL draft picks since 1967. Nine teams had 16 or more tight ends drafted.
