Clemson has danced its way to the Sweet 16.
The Tigers got 20 points from Chase Hunter and survived a late surge from No. 3 seed Baylor for a 72-64 victory in the second round of the West Region of the NCAA Tournament at FedExForum in Memphis on Sunday.
Joe Girard (13 points), Ian Schieffelin (11 points) and PJ Hall (11 points) also finished in double figures to help Clemson advance to the program’s first Sweet 16 appearance since 2018.
The Tigers will face No. 2 seed Arizona at Crypto.com Arena (formerly Staples Center) in Los Angeles Thursday. A win against the Wildcats would send Clemson to the school’s first Elite Eight appearance since 1980.
For Arizona (27-8 overall), Caleb Love scored 19 points to lead the Wildcats past Dayton over the weekend.
Clemson-Arizona is scheduled to tip off at 7:09 p.m. EDT. The game will be televised by CBS.
