USC lands 2025 defensive end Gus Cordova from Austin, Texas — recruiting haul grows even more

USC brought in five — count ’em, five — recruits on Sunday, March 24. Wow!

The USC Trojans have done a lot of work for one day. Sunday has provided an insane run of recruiting successes after months of relative quiet on the scene in Los Angeles. The latest recruit to commit to USC on Sunday is Gus Cordova, a three-star defensive end from Austin, Texas. Cordova is the fifth prospect to join USC on Sunday, March 24, making this one of the biggest days of the Lincoln Riley era.

Cordova’s commitment comes on the heels of commitments from four other defensive players: Justus Terry, Isaiah Gibson, Dominick Kelly, and Hylton Stubbs.

USC is stacking defensive recruits, which sends a message in and of itself but also gives this program a lot more depth for the future in the Big Ten. The Trojans are positioning themselves a lot better than they previously did. More than that, they are changing the narrative and reshaping their reputation relative to their commitment to defense under Lincoln Riley. These recruits are valuable in an immediate sense but also in a larger way as well.
