The Philadelphia 76ers have bigger things to worry about at the moment than the NBA draft, but it doesn’t hurt to look ahead to the offseason and begin thinking about potential additions and things of that nature.
The Sixers have a first-round pick in the 2024 draft. While there is a good chance, they trade that pick just considering their recent track record, there are young players in this draft who can help them.
In a mock draft performed by The Ringer, the Sixers are selecting Baylor freshman big man Yves Missi:
The Sixers need a better backup big behind Joel Embiid. With his elite athleticism, Missi would provide a change of pace, making him an intriguing fit with Tyrese Maxey. And frankly, Missi could even play next to Embiid, serving as a downhill lob threat while Embiid spaces the floor or operates from the elbows.
Missi averaged 11.1 points and 5.8 rebounds in the regular season and his athleticism is NBA ready. It will be interesting to see what the Sixers do with their draft selection. Again, they could always trade the pick to get a player who can help them win right now, but if they pick it, Missi is an intriguing option.
