Georgia softball wins series vs. No. 14 Alabama

Georgia softball picked up a series win over No. 14 Alabama, plays in first road SEC series of the season this weekend

The Georgia Bulldogs softball team picked up an impressive opening SEC series win over the No. 14 Alabama Crimson Tide. Georgia went 3-1 over the past week against quality competition. The Dawgs nearly swept the Crimson Tide, but came up just short in a 5-4 loss on Sunday.

Georgia is now 23-4 on the season with wins over seven different ranked opponents. Georgia looks like one of the top softball teams in the SEC along with LSU, Tennessee and Florida.

Georgia outfielder Jayda Kearney has been outstanding this season. The senior has 12 home runs and 27 RBIs in 27 games played this year. Infielder Sara Mosley has also added nine home runs and 41 RBIs for the Bulldogs.

Georgia softball’s next game is at Turner Softball Stadium in Athens, Georgia. Georgia hosts Georgia Southern on Wednesday, March 20 at 6:00 p.m. ET in the Dawgs’ next game. Georgia plays in its first SEC road series this weekend at Ole Miss.
