The NASCAR Cup Series arrived at Bristol Motor Speedway with many unknowns. Goodyear brought a softer tire to the race track; however, it didn’t lay down rubber, and most runs lasted around 50 laps. In the end, Joe Gibbs Racing perfected the strategy for saving tires, with one driver securing a second straight victory for the organization.
[autotag]Denny Hamlin[/autotag] won the Food City 500 at Bristol, passing teammate Martin Truex Jr. with under 20 laps to go. It was a crazy race, with only five drivers finishing on the lead lap. Hamlin’s teammate Ty Gibbs won the first two stages, but just like the NASCAR Truck Series race with Kyle Busch, he could not secure the victory after a strong day.
