The Brooklyn Nets (26-41) and San Antonio Spurs (14-53) meet Sunday. Tip-off from the Moody Center in Austin is set for 7 p.m. ET (NBA TV). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Nets vs. Spurs odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Nets lead 1-0

The Nets are coming off a 121-100 loss against the Indiana Pacers Saturday with the Under (228.5) cashing in Indianapolis. Brooklyn, which led by as many as 9 in the 1st half, was outscored 62-43 after halftime and failed to cover as an 8-point underdog.

The Spurs lost 117-106 vs. the Denver Nuggets in Texas’ capital city (Austin) Friday as the Under (224.5) hit. F Jeremy Sochan had a team-high 19 points for the Spurs, who failed to cover as 10.5-point underdogs despite a record crowd for a sporting event at the Moody Center (16,223).

In their 1st regular-season meeting (Feb. 10), the Nets covered as 6-point home favorites with a 123-103 win over the Spurs with the Under (232) cashing in Brooklyn. G Dennis Schroder finished with 15 points and 12 dimes, the most assists by a player in his Nets debut since now-Clippers G James Harden had 14 Jan. 16, 2021.

Nets at Spurs picks and predictions

Prediction

Nets 111, Spurs 110

Moneyline

While I do like the Nets (+105) to win, I prefer paying 10 cents for the 1.5 points of insurance.

PASS. Take the points and/or bet the total instead.

Against the spread

The Spurs were -20 when C Victor Wembanyama was on the floor in last month’s meeting, which speaks to the job C Nic Claxton and the Nets as a whole did defensively on the Spurs rookie.

While I obviously wouldn’t predict a 20-point Nets win, Claxton may be uniquely qualified to slow down the Spurs’ No. 1 option in Wembanyama.

BET NETS +1.5 (-105).

Over/Under

The Nets looked lost offensively last time out, scoring just 100 points on the night against Indiana’s bottom-3 defense. However, the last time they scored 100 or fewer points — March 9 at the Charlotte Hornets — they responded with a 120-101 win the next night against the Cleveland Cavaliers, helping the Over (209) cash.

Look for the Nets to have a similar bounceback in Austin against a team they dropped 123 points against last Sunday.

BET OVER 217.5 (-115).
