Bears’ signing of Keenan Allen is a major statement directed to Caleb Williams

Caleb Williams can see the Bears are trying to give him better pieces on offense.

The Chicago Bears are intent on giving Caleb Williams quality resources in the NFL, provided that they do indeed trade Justin Fields and pick Williams to start the 2024 NFL draft. Signing receiver Keenan Allen — the star receiver with the Los Angeles Chargers — is a big statement of their intent to put Caleb in a position to thrive.

Bears Wire has more on this signing:

“During his time with the Chargers, Allen has played with two great quarterbacks in Philip Rivers and Justin Herbert. Now, he will come to Chicago and try to help whoever is under center for them — most likely rookie Caleb Williams.

“Before the trade, the Bears had DJ Moore as their No. 1 receiver, and there wasn’t much after that. Now, Allen will jump in there and be one of the great weapons on their offense.”

This move gives the Bears a significant upgrade in their wide receiver room. It’s the kind of move a team should make if it is about to draft a franchise quarterback. The pieces are lining up for Caleb Williams to have a better chance of succeeding in the NFL.
