Florida drops four spots in Week 4 D1Baseball rankings update

Florida’s early season struggles have finally forced the to slide down the D1Baseball rankings, and the schedule is only getting tougher.

Florida remains inside the D1Baseball top 10 for now, but a 2-2 week on the diamond has the Gators down four spots to No. 8 overall in the country.

Wake Forest lost its No. 1 ranking after a series loss to Duke this weekend. Arkansas is the new top dog, followed by LSU, Oregon State, Texas A&M and Tennessee. The Blue Devils are now in the No. 6 spot and the Demon Deacons have dropped to No. 7 overall.

Florida is the only five-loss team inside the top 20, which says a lot about how highly this team is thought of. Beating Miami was big, and Florida hasn’t come out of a weekend as a series loser yet — Mother Nature won the St. John’s series. The Gators will face a big test facing No. 4 Texas A&M this weekend.

Looking at the rest of the SEC, Vanderbilt stayed put at No. 9, Alabama is up one spot to No. 14 and Auburn climbed to No. 18. Surprisingly, Florida’s midweek opponent, FSU, is nowhere to be found on D1’s rankings.

Here is a look at the complete Week 4 rankings from D1Baseball.
