The start of NFL free agency had the Arizona Cardinals quite busy. They added four likely defensive starters in the free agent market. They also started getting some of their own free agents under contract.
The team announced Monday afternoon that linebacker Krys Barnes has agreed to return to the team on a one-year contract.
Barnes signed a one-year deal last offseason and played in 16 games, starting six. He had 55 total tackles, including three for loss, a quarterback hit, an interception and six pass breakups.
He logged 408 defensive snaps and a career-high 209 special teams snaps.
He will likely compete with Mack Wilson, one of the Cardinals’ latest free agent additions, for a starting role.
