The Southwestern Athletic Conference men’s basketball tournament starts on Wednesday as March Madness continues to crescendo. If you are looking to get in on some of the hottest live action the sport has to offer, you have come to the right place.
The Grambling State Tigers took home the gold during the regular season, wrapping up the conference crown with a 14-4 record against SWAC opponents — one game better than the Alcorn State BraveHawks at 13-5. The 12-team league saw four other schools also finish with winning marks.
On the flip side, the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils put up a putrid 1-17 mark in the conference, earning them the cellar spot in the standings at the end of the schedule. The Florida A&M Rattlers were just three games better than them at 4-14 and another of the five teams with losing records.

The SWAC men’s basketball conference tournament starts on Wednesday, March 13 at 3 p.m. ET / 2 p.m. CT inside Bartow Arena in Birmingham, Alabama with No. 2 Alcorn State taking on the No. 7 Alabama A&M Bulldogs. The tournament only includes the top eight finishers from the 2023-24 campaign.
Wednesday’s opening slate of games also includes No. 1 Grambling State taking on the No. 8 Alabama State Hornets to start things off. Then the action continues on Thursday, March 14, with two more games on Friday.
The finals will be held on Saturday, March 16, at 9:30 p.m. ET / 8:30 p.m. CT.
