Saturday’s regular-season finale between No. 14 Auburn and Georgia was memorable for several reasons.
Six players were honored as part of senior day, and those Tigers were able to celebrate their final performance on the floor of Neville Arena by securing a 92-78 victory over their rivals. The group of Jaylin Williams, Johni Broome, Chris Moore, Dylan Cardwell, and KD Johnson combined to score 46 of Auburn’s 92 points, with Denver Jones adding 21 points by going 7-for-9 from three-point territory.
One of Auburn’s seniors, KD Johnson, described his emotions of going through senior day and getting a win during postgame interviews
“It was very emotional. I was happy and all the feelings were going through my head,” Johnson said. “I kind of was just focused on the game and not really paying much attention to the ceremony. I was grateful for it as the fans and other guys were cheering me on.”
