It’s a tradition unlike any other for North Carolina.
When North Carolina beats Duke, you can count on one thing happening in Chapel Hill: Fans are going to rush to Franklin Street to celebrate.
We saw it last month when the Tar Heels beat Duke at home in Chapel Hill to win the first game of the year between the two teams. On Saturday after a 84-79 win for the visiting Tar Heels to sweep the Blue Devils in the regular season, students rushed Franklin Street again.
Watch as the students went out to Franklin Street to celebrate the big win:

They will also be joined by the team after interviews and postgame stuff is done per the North Carolina basketball official X account:

It’s not the first time this season the team was out there. After the first win over Duke, Cormac Ryan and others made an appearance. With Ryan dropping 31 points against Duke tonight, it’s going to be a fun atmosphere out there on Franklin Street.
Don’t party too hard, UNC fans but have fun in the process.
