LSU women’s basketball [autotag]Angel Reese[/autotag] had a breakout first campaign on the Bayou, and she’s followed it up with a very impressive Year 2 as she looks to lead LSU to another national title in what could be her final year of college ball.
She’s in the mix for some individual hardware, as well. On Thursday, Reese was named a finalist for the Katrina McClain Award, given to the nation’s top power forward. It’s the second year in a row that Reese has been named among the five finalists.
Reese is the SEC Player of the Year and led the league in points (19.1) and rebounds (13) per game. She became the first player to lead the league in both categories in back-to-back seasons since Vanderbilt’s Wendy Scholtens in 1989-90.
