The Oklahoma City Thunder survived the upset in their close 128-120 win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday. The win marks a clean season series sweep for OKC and extends its win streak over Portland to 12 in a row.
It was a competitive contest throughout the four quarters. The Thunder’s largest lead was just 16 points and the Trail Blazers cut it to a two-point contest in the final frame. Alas, Portland never managed to take the lead throughout the contest.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams combined for 68 points on 55% shooting. Gilgeous-Alexander had 37 points on 23 shots and went 11-of-12 from the free-throw line; Williams scored 31 points on 17 shots — including 13 points in the fourth quarter.
Meanwhile, the shorthanded Trail Blazers were led by Anfernee Simons, who had 29 points and went 5-of-10 from 3. He was hot in the second half with 23 points as Scoot Henderson and Shaedon Sharpe were out.
