A Nebraska women’s basketball player has been named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year. Natalie Potts earned the honor on Tuesday morning from the conference’s coaches.
Potts has averaged 10.5 points and 5.4 rebounds per game for the Cornhuskers. The Missouri native was named to the conference’s All-Freshman Team and was an honorable mention All-Big Ten.
She was joined on the Freshman team by fellow Cornhusker Logan Nissley. Nebraska will continue their season on Thursday afternoon in the second round of the Big Ten Tournament.
The Huskers will face the winner of Northwestern and Purdue. Tip-off from Minneapolis is set for 2:00 p.m.
