North Carolina up two spots in AP Top 25 poll

The UNC basketball program has moved up two spots in the latest AP Top 25 poll ahead of the final regular season week.

As North Carolina gets ready for the final regular season week of the 2023-24 season, they will do so as the No. 7 team in the nation.

After a 2-0 week with home wins over Miami and NC State, the Tar Heels moved up two spots from No. 9 to No. 7 in the Associated Press Top 25 poll released on Monday. It’s the second straight week North Carolina has moved up in the poll after falling due to some losses earlier in February.

North Carolina is the highest-ranked ACC team in the poll, ahead of Duke who is at No. 9. They are the only two teams in the conference ranked in this poll with no others even receiving votes.

The Tar Heels will stay at home on Tuesday for Senior Night, hosting Notre Dame before going on the road to face off against Duke in the season finale.

A loss in either of those two games puts UNC’s ACC title hopes in danger. A win over Notre Dame means they will clinch at least a share of the ACC regular season title.
